Well.. Slept till about 9 or so...
Got up.. read the paper... boring start to the day...
I went to a different clubs rotary meeting at noon... It was fun, they had a cookout today...
Then I came home and played a couple games of football with my brother to make him happy.. Then it was off to another rotary meeting (thats what i do now a days when i am bored... I go to rotary meetings :-))
The second meeting was a really fun one.. fun group of people and I think I will prolly go back to taht one again...
but the highlight of the night was when I got home and checked my e-mail..
These 2 e-mails made my WEEK :-D:

I'm very pleased to inform you that our District Governor has approved our nomination and has appointed you to serve as a member of the District Youth Exchange Committee. As far as I know, you are the first member of our Committee to have ever been a former exchange student.

I'll copy you on the announcement to the rest of the committee and to a few others who would have a need to know.

Your current Outbounds are C.P. from Camden (Italy) and C.W. from Moravia (Hungary). The 2002-03 Inbounds will be in Oswego (Italy) and Utica (Hungary), but I don't have any information as to names, genders, etc. You'll need to get together with J& V H. so they can assist you with a smooth transition. I'll also e-mail you the committee list so you'll have everyone's name, address, etc. It will be in Microsoft Excel form, so if you can't access it, please let me know.

Please update any info on yourself regarding address, phone #, etc.

Congrats, Don. I'll look forward to working with you.

---AND--- (this one went to everyone else...)

District Gov. Don Reese has approved Don Lough to serve on the District Youth Exchange Committee. To the best of my knowledge, Don is the first former Rotary Exchange Student to serve on the committee (another sign that the Apocalypse is upon us?). Don spent his year (1994-95?) in Japan.

I have asked Don to take over the duties of Country Contact for Italy and Hungary from J & V H. who are retiring after many years of dedicated service to the committee. While their presence on the committee will definitely be missed, I am confident that Don will give 100% to the very important work that needs to be done.

Hope to see you all at the Welcome Home Dinner next Wednesday at Dibble's Inn.

I already made one goal... It's a 5 year goal.. and that is to have my club (the Eastwood club) surpass the Skaneateles club in the number of applicants... Skaneateles has the most applicants in the district... So I said, within the next 5 years, Eastwood is going to beat Skaneateles!
So, we will see how that goes!
I am just psyched that I have attained this goal as quickly as I did...
Now I can start the work on it :-D
Anyways.. I'm gonna go and continue smiling :-D
