Email this link to everyone you know. Sign it, post it in your own journals, and help save the prekindergarten program from anniahlation under Patakis new Budget.

http://www.petitiononline.com/prek/petition.html

This is an online petition to demand that Governor Pataki not to take funding from the Educational system that would eliminate universal preK, full day kindergarten, and smaller class sizes in the early grades. Please Sign it and pass the address on to as many people as possible. As I know a mother of a child dependant on these programs I can vouch personally for their importance and the Marked difference they make in a struggling child's life.

To: Governor George E. Pataki
Under your proposed budget 60,000 four-year-olds will miss out on PreK next year. It eliminates Universal Prekindergarten, Full Day Kindergarten, and Early grade Class size reduction. Prekindergarten is the foundation for school success, helping thousands of children state-wide prepare for and excell in their educational experience. We the undersigned parents, teachers, and citizens demand full funding for these early education programs as legislated. These programs provide the core foundation for learning. Do not sacrifice our children.

Please help? This helps so many little kids, just like Kahlyn thenadalady's daughter below...

nope. bombing the shit out of a couple thousand iraqi children is more important than giving our own children an education. what made you think otherwise?

Nice of you to give up on the future of America. Ever heard of self-fulfilling prophecy?

Kids only drop out if their parents raise them to be quiters... BECAUSE of people like that that refuse to take a stand and endorse the educational system, and BECAUSE noone actaully participates actively in their lives.

it's a sad state of event because noone will do anything about it.. dont preach itll never get better, fix it. My daughter is disabled, this program is the only thing helping her catch up to where she is supposed to be in life, and if they take that from her adn all the other thousands of children just like her all it leads to is exactly that.. drop outs.

don't whine about how sad the world is unless you've done everything in your power to make a difference.. tolerating a problem is akin to being part of it.

yeah i was.. not you

some people are so self centered that they can't see the rest of the world past their own nose...

its people like this i wish a child like mine on, in the years after this program is lost... and then they cn watch them suffer and struggle with speach and learningbecause people like mommy refused to help make a difference when they had the chance.
