So.. today I gave the dog a bath.. thats all...

I just spent the last hour or 2 looking at adoption websites...

why?

I have no clue... I have already decided that regardless.. eventually I am having children.. if I marry someone who can't have kids.. Then it's adoption... most likely from the Ukraine... or maybe one from the Ukraine and one from China.. either way... I was just looking at websites... hell, even if we (whoever it is that is out there) can have kids... I think that adopting a child from the Ukraine would be a good thing to do... I'm 1/2 Ukrainian.... and if th baby isn't adopted.. then it is in for a lifetime of.. well.. it wouldn't really be nice!!

so.. I started off looking at pixiekisses's website... http://www.worldadopt.org/index.html
She is a lucky mom of a beautiful Ukrainian boy names Alek... well.. she is lucky to have him and he is lucky to have her as a mom cause she is so wonderful.. so it's luck all around in that family!!

and then went and stuck in "international adoption" on Google... there are a million and one agencies that assist families in International adoption...
some of them even have pictures of children who are waiting to be adopted on their websites... it's actually quite sad..

some of the stuff that I saw basically told me that (depending on the country, agency, and age of the child) adoptions would range from $15,000 - $40,000... A small price to pay for a lifetime of happiness...

What gets me though is no matter what.. I have to be married.. the majority of the agencies say that single parent homes are ok.. but only single moms.. I didn't see any that said that a single dad home would be ok...

heh... I have done some interesting surfing today... looked into international job placement thingys... interesting.. but not practical when you have a mortgage and other blls to pay here... (but if I was still in college I would jump on them)
and then went over to international adoption... it was more of a "eventually I'll be searching these pages for serious info" type of searching...
I now have a small idea as to what is out there and can file that in the back of my mind and pull it up when it becomes reelent...

First to find a mommy .... hehe

Speak for yourself! :p

I dunno, I just find it troublesome that the discrimination against single fathers is so blatent, that's all.

While that is true, is a terrible way to justify something. Two wrong most certainly do not make a right.

Well, that's a little bit reassuring, I suppose. I certainly think that single dad's should be able to adopt though.

well.. if two dads can... maybe the agencies just don't like doing single dad houses and you would still be able to do it privatelly...

That's one of the sweetest, most selfless things I've heard a guy say in a long time. I think it's a great idea to adopt a child from another country. I would want to have 1 or 2 of my own, but it'd be nice to adopt a third child. I think it's a great idea. =]
